>Subject: C.A.L.L. 2002: first call for contributions
>Date: Tue, 13 Nov 2001 16:20:08 +0100
>Importance: Normal

The Editorial Board, the Associate Editors and the Editor of the C.A.L.L.
Journal extend a cordial invitation to attend the

        Tenth International C.A.L.L. Conference

"CALL PROFESSIONALS AND THE FUTURE OF CALL RESEARCH"

University of Antwerp, 19-21 August 2002

Contributions:

Participants from all continents and from all CALL-related (sub)disciplines
are welcome, but, given the theme of the conference, presenters will need to
demonstrate relevant CALL experience in terms of publications, projects or
applications.

Four types of contributions will be accepted:

- new initiatives: if you have ideas for project proposals, publications,
applications or CALL research in general, this is your chance to discuss
them with your peers before submitting or launching them; typically a
ten-minute presentation followed by a twenty-minute discussion;
non-disclosure will be asked from participants.

- work in progress: you can discuss problems encountered during application
development, project management or writing manuscripts for publications;
typically a fifteen-minute presentation followed by a fifteen-minute
discussion.

- completed research: in a more traditional paper presentation (a
twenty-minute presentation followed by a ten-minute Q&A), you can present
your research findings; an extended version of the abstract will be
published in the proceedings.

- panels: you can also invite colleagues with differing viewpoints or
positions to present together and generate some lively discussion which
could really illuminate the field.

Please send an abstract (200 to 500 words) - indicating the chosen
presentation type - with a short description of your CALL experience (in
terms of research projects, publications, application development) and your
biodata (max. 50 words) to the conference secretariat
([log in to unmask]) before January 1st 2002.

Organisation:

- Organizing Committee: Phil Hubbard (Stanford University, USA), Michael
Levy (Griffith University, Australia), Wilfried Decoo (Brigham Young
University, USA) and Jozef Colpaert (University of Antwerp, Belgium).
- Scientific Committee: the Editorial Board of the C.A.L.L. Journal.
- Conference Coordinator: Mathea Simons (DIDASCALIA, University of Antwerp).
