So, I am curious, have there been any issues regarding theft and/or loss or
damage with a class set of ipods?

We are just about to begin using them in a similar manner and it would be
helpful to hear what others have experienced. I have had my personal ipod
replaced twice in the course of just over two years so I have to wonder
what the return rate is on 30.

I know these concerns have been a deterrent for some to go the laptop
route, but have generally proven to be unfounded.
