FileMaker puts up the scroll bar only when it thinks it needs it... What 
I mean is that if you have a few records, the arrow key/ cursor will 
blink as the script processes. IF there are more records, you see the 
blinking dot. At some threshold, it changes over to the status bar. On 
the projects I'm working on in 11 it only seems to show up when there 
are more then 300 or 400 records to process. Usually I see the blinking 
dot first then it changes to the bar.

I have seen some techniques for making your own scroll bar. I haven't 
got a link handy, but a search at some of the filemaker sites may lead 
you to some that you could implement.
