The possibility exists that you may have corrupted indexes on those records. Typically they show up as "?" in all the fields. If you move through the data in order of record creation you may run across them - you can't (as far as I know) actually search for them using FMP finds but you can stumble across them by going through the data manually.
If you do find them see http://fmdiff.com/fm/recordindex.html for help in sorting them out.
