John, one error in my logic. When you are looping through the records, what I gave you will clear out all the variables that didn't have any hits on the current record. You need to adjust each line to look like this (with the default result on the end):

	SetVariable [ $count_n ; Value: Case ( ValueCount ( chckBoxField ) = n ; $count_n + 1 ; $count_n )
