Hi Bill,
I had a somewhat similar problem recently. OS on a MacBook pro became
corrupt. System really wouldn't do much of anything and FM 10 advanced
worked as you described.
I did a re-install of the OS over the existing OS. This resolved all of
the OS problems and FileMaker worked after that.
If the only issue is FileMaker you can try a reinstall and update to the
current revision.
You can also try removing all of your plugins and see if it comes up.
Then put them back one at a time and see if the probelm returns.
