Chris Pearson founded Sound Innovations (SI) in 1989 with a focus on Active Noise Reduction (ANR) technology that protects hearing in extremely high-noise environments. Since then, SI has gone on to develop technology to help people enhance their hearing and to identify and understand sounds from great distances. In March 2007, the US Air Force awarded SI a $1.5 million contract to develop an in-ear product that meets its stringent Aircrew Helmet Noise Reduction (AHNR) requirements for fixed and rotary wing environments.
