Monday, April 11, one month after the devastating earthquake and tsunami in Japan,  
a Day of Reflection, organized by the Tucker Foundation, will be held to express  
the Dartmouth community's ongoing grief and support for the people of Japan.

The Day of Reflection will include the kickoff of the Dartmouth Crane Project.  
  In Japan, origami cranes are a symbol of hope and goodwill.   It is also believed  
that the greatest wish of anyone who makes 1,000 cranes (senbazuru) will come  
true.   Cranes are often made for those recovering from illness or injury.

Schedule of Events:

8 - 8:45 am - Zen Practice Group Sitting Meditation (Tucker Foundation)

Kickoff of the Dartmouth Crane Project. The Dartmouth Japan Society (DJS) will  
host opportunities throughout the day for members of the community to write messages  
and fold origami cranes in support of relief efforts. (Collis and Novack).  More  
details to come.

5 - 5:30 pm - Community Candelight VIGIL.  All are welcome. (Rollins Chapel)

7:30 - 8:45 pm - Zen Practice Group Sitting Meditation (Tucker Foundation)
