More information:
Cranes, or tsuru, are mystical creatures of symbolic importance in Japanese culture.
It is said that anyone who folds 1000 paper tsuru will be granted a wish by a
crane, be it for health, peace, or luck.

The Tsuru for Japan Project is a month-long, community-wide effort to fold 5000
cranes for Japan.
The cranes will be displayed around campus and in town for awareness and at the
end of the campaign, they will be collected to create one large art installation.
Donations to charities working with the Dartmouth Club of Japan can be made through
sponsoring cranes folded by members of the Dartmouth and Hanover community. $1
per crane, blitz in your DASH donations to "Tsuru," send in cheque donations (made
out to "Dartmouth College" with "Japan Relief" in the Notes section) to 3918 Hinman,
Hanover, NH 03755, or bring cash donations to future Dartmouth for Japan events!

Beginning Monday, there will be crane collection boxes at various locations on
campus and in town where you can drop off your paper cranes. If you need origami
paper, please blitz "Tsuru" to purchase 100 sheets for $5. More information on
the project will be posted soon at: http://now.dartmouth.edu/japan/
