An exciting and informative event on social justice and conflict in the Congo
is happening THIS THURSDAY, February 16th!!

Social Justice Alliance is proud to host speakers from the Vermont Ibutwa Initiative,
a nonprofit started by Congolese refugees who hope to raise awareness of the conflict
and violence in the Congo and advocate to put an end to it. Ibutwa has traveled
across Vermont and New Hampshire giving talks and showing short films about the
crisis, and then following up with a Q&A. The speakers themselves are from the
Congo and have firsthand experience and stories to share with us, so you don't
want to miss this special event!

When: Thursday, February 16th @7pm
Where: Dartmouth Hall 108

Don't waste your meal swipe,Taste of Africa will be served!!

Some goals of the Vermont Ibutwa Initiative are:

   * To provide access to school in South Kivu, DRC for children born out of
the rape pandemic and for the many children in the region who currently have no
hope of schooling .
   * To stop the violence in the DRC by providing adults with access to education
and community-building opportunities including conflict management training.
   * To engage North Americans and Africans expatriates in supporting VIBI's
educational and conflict resolution goals in the DRC.
