Yom HaShoah, Holocaust Rememberance Day, THURSDAY, April 19th

Thursday, April 19th is Yom HaShoah, Holocaust Remembrance day (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yom_Hashoah).
Every victim has a name.  In an effort to honor and remember the Holocaust's
martyrs and heroes, Jewish people and allies around the world will hold name-reading
memorials.  Dartmouth College Hillel participates in this solemn event by reading
the names of victims from Collis patio from 10 AM- 4 PM on 4/19.  Please
help
us honor the memory of the 6 million Jews and the 5-6 million other people who
perished in the Holocaust, by helping us read the names of victims aloud.
By Sunday April, 15th, blitz Rebecca Gotlieb ([log in to unmask])
with a thirty-minute time slot on the hour or half hour in which you would
be
willing to read names.

Additionally, Yom HaShoah is an important time to remember that genocide is an
ongoing tragic issue that has affected various communities andhas affected
relatives
of members of our own Dartmouth community.  As such we will create a poster
displaying the names and photos of any Dartmouth Student's relatives who perished
in the Holocaust or any other genocide.  By this Friday April 13th, please
blitz "Rebecca Gotlieb" with as much of the following information as possible:
the names of your relatives who perished in a genocide, which genocide,
the days
they lived, their relation to you, and photographs.
