Aquaculture (Dartmouth Organic Farm) Meeting
When: 12:30-1:30pm
Where: Robo basement
What: The farm will use their regular meeting time for a presentation on the aquaculture
project at the farm (what's up in those big tanks in the greenhouse). George Thorman
'11, Jenna Musco '11, and Molly Wilson '13 will explain the whys and hows of the
system. If you can't make it until 1, no worries- you'll get the scoop!

Environmental Conservation Organization
When: 7:30pm
Where: Robo basement
What: The Environmental Conservation Organization (ECO) is one of Dartmouth's
oldest environmental groups. ECO is focused on enacting change on campus to address
local environmental issues such as recycling, composting, and energy efficiency.

Dartmouth Humanitarian Engineering meeting
When: 8pm
Where: Spanos Auditorium, Thayer
What: DHE is an award-winning, impact-driven organization comprised of students
from every year and most majors. Come learn about our projects, including hydropower,
fuel-efficient cookstoves, and water sanitation in Rwanda and Tanzania, and how
you can get involved! DHE is NOT just for engineers. We need passionate students
in a variety of different fields.

Injustice on Our Plates: Understanding the Plight of Immigrant Women Employed
in the U.S. Food Industry
When: 4:30pm
Where: Room 1, Rockefeller Center
What: Presentation by Monica Ramirez, Director, Esperanza: The Immigrant Women's
Legal Initiative of the Southern Poverty Law Center
Do you eat? Then learn how you can help protect immigrant women, who sacrifice
their bodies to put food on our tables by toiling in the fields and laboring under
sub-standard conditions in meat-packing and poultry plants, and restaurants.

Screening of "The End of Poverty"
When: 7:30pm
Where: Hartland Public Library Community Room
What: Can we really end poverty within our current economic system? Think again.
The End of Poverty is a daring, thought-provoking and very timely documentary
by award-winning filmmaker, Philippe Diaz, revealing that poverty is not an accident.
It began with military conquest, slavery and colonization that resulted in the
seizure of land, minerals and forced labor. Today, global poverty has reached
new levels because of unfair debt, trade and tax policies -- in other words, wealthy
countries exploiting the weaknesses of poor, developing countries. *Free admission
+ popcorn*
Perspectives from a 34-year Career in Solar Power Development
When: 7:30pm
Where: Spanos Auditorium, Cummings Hall
What: Lecture by Edward C. Kern Jr., Ph.D., President of Irradiance, Inc. Solar
energy gained a diverse and competing set of advocates following the 1960's environmental
movement and the 1970's Arab oil embargoes. Ed Kern will share his perspectives
on the evolution of today's global solar power business from its scientific, political
and environmental roots. He will also share his career experience to offer guidance
and teach the basics of solar energy resources, his current professional focus.

What: The Dartmouth Council on Climate Change is a climate change educational
and activism-oriented group. DC3 aims to connect Dartmouth students to how global
warming and climate change have social, environmental, economic, and political
impacts at the local to international level.
