Come to Rocky 209 @ 6 p.m. to watch four short clips about the controversy in Sheikh Jarrah Sheikh Jarrah is a neighborhood in East Jerusalem, located entirely to the east of the 1949 Armistice Line (the ‘Green Line’). In 1999, Israeli courts began issuing eviction orders, and since 2008 several dozen individuals from four separate families in Sheikh Jarrah have lost their homes. More information is here: http://www.justvision.org/homefront.

The four clips reveal four different perspectives on the current situation in Sheikh Jarrah. After watching them, we will have a short discussion on dialogue and how to reconcile different perspectives that seem to be in direct opposition with one another.

*Dinner from Mai Thai will be served*

ISRAEL AND PALESTINE WEEK: A Look at Conflict Through Culture; Dartmouth College, April 30th - May 4th

Israel and Palestine Week aims to reveal the human component of the conflict through showcasing different personal stories, cultural expressions, and dialogue. By bringing together movies that highlight various perspectives, we hope to enable individuals here to better understand how Israelis and Palestinians live through the conflict. And, through comedy and poetry, we want to gain an appreciation for the richness of the cultures in the region.
