Bette Brennan and Boo Hudlocke get married. They both mean well. Yet somehow,
everything goes wrong, and thirty years later their son Matt sifts through the
wreckage to try to figure out what happened. This play deals with alcoholism,
stillbirth, and domestic abuse; it examines in great detail the dysfunctional
families of the bride and groom. It is also sarcastic, scathing, and hilarious,
mixing satire and tragedy in classic Durang style.
"The Marriage of Bette and Boo" is the culminating project for the theater majors
of the Class of 2010, and their final appearance both on the stage and behind
the scenes.
