Are you...
* hungry for "real" conversations about diversity?
* seeking exchanges wherein different opinions are truly respected?
* wish you had a place to ask the tough questions?
* want to meet others interested in learning more about diversity?
We will be discussing six primary areas of diversity: race/ethnicity/culture, gender, sexual orientation, religion and spirituality, ability, and class/socioeconomic status.
What will I gain?
* increased insights about your own social identity
* increased insights about how social identity impacts others & our society
* new skills and action steps about how to create social change on campus & beyond
* the opportunity to get to know a diverse group of students
* the ability to become a Diversity Peer Advisor.
What are the commitments?
* attend one hour small group discussions for 7 consecutive weeks
* get together weekly with an assigned student partner (to discuss assigned topics)
* complete short journal reflections
How do I sign up?
* simply respond to this blitz confirming that you are able and willing to attend the 7 weekly discussions, and include an answer to this organization:
Why do you want to participate in the Diversity Peer Leadership Program and what aspects of it are of particular interest to you? What aspects you hope to learn the most about and why?
