The Nakba refers to the mass displacement, dispossession, and ethnic cleansing of Palestinians committed by the Israeli government between 1947 and 1949.
During the Nakba over 750,000 Palestinians (80% of Palestinians) were forcibly expelled from their homes and 531 Palestinian cities, towns, and villages were destroyed or depopulated. Many of the Palestinians in Gaza and Rafah today are descendants of those displaced, and the violence they now face is a continuation of the Nakba.

During our regular meeting on Monday, May 6, we will be hosting an open meeting to discuss last Wednesday’s events and the state of freedom of speech on campus. We understand this is an intensely emotional time for many students, and want to use our space to provide a safe and comfortable environment for reflection and healing. This is an open event to all Dartmouth students, regardless of political affiliation, to see how we can best come together and support each other in this unprecedented moment.
The events of Wednesday night highlighted divides in our community.
As Dartmouth Students Supporting Israel, we understand that Dartmouth’s strength lies in its tight-knit community, where we are all a valuable part. For this reason, we believe that each of us must make an effort to understand each other’s perspectives in good faith, and to respect the humanity and dignity of one another, including those with whom we may disagree.
Mark your calendars for the spring student party, an event designed by students, for students. The Museum Club is excited to announce…

We are pleased to announce that we are extending the deadline to send in your lines (click here!)<https://forms.gle/kb5anrvET1QhRAoo6> by Wednesday May 15th! Excited to read your perspectives!
